Overview

A relatively low altitude trek, the Helambu circuit is one of the most well located of the short treks close to Kathmandu . While most of the trek is at low altitude below 3000m, the high point at Tharepati La pass is 3600m and can experience snow even during the main trekking seasons.

Details Itinerary

DAY 01 ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU
Upon arrival at Tribhuwan International airport in Kathmandu meet our airport representative and transfer to the hotel .Overnight at Kathmandu .

Day 02: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING
In the morning after breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu , the most popular Place in the kingdom was known as kantipur in earlier times. The tour highlights are the Living Goddess " Kumari" who appear on the balcony of her temple to greet her devotees; Kastamandap temple, the temple made out of single tree and name Kathmandu is derived from durbar square and drive to Soyambhunath which lies on top of hill is the Buddhist sanctuary said to be nearly 2000 years old. The hill itself is pleasant place overlooking the entire valley of Kathmandu . The all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha painted in prominent blue atop the dome are visible from long distance from around the Kathamandu city

DAY 03: KAHMANDU - SUNDARIJAL - CHISAPANI -2194m.
Drive to Sundarijal & start trek. Cross drinking water supply project one and half hour ascent through village and steps. Then we walk for about two hours through the lovely forest. Arrive Burlang Bhanjyang at 2400m the first view point of Himalayas. We can see from Annapurna to Gaurishankar from here. Then we descend for about half an hour to arrive Chisopani.

DAY 04: CHISAPANI - KUTUGSANG- 2446m.
We descend for about half an hour through some rice fields and small villages. Arrive Patibhanjyang and start gradual ascent through villages and forest. This walk from Patibhanjyang to Tharepati is one of the best ridge walks among the other treks in Nepal .

DAY 05: KUTUGSANG - THAREPATI3597m.
Gradual ascent through villages and rhododendron forest with magnificent views make you want to come back to Nepal again.

DAY 06: THAREPATI - MELAMCHE - 2560m.
Walk to the right and the slope the descends to Malamche, the first Sherpa village in the Helambhu area is a collection of neat houses fronted by prayer flags and surrounded by orchards and fields.

DAY 07: MELAMCHE - SERMANTHANG - 2621m.
The trail drops down to Melamchi Khola and climbs up to same heights to Tarkeghyang. There is a large restored Gompa here dating back to the early 18th century. Then walk to another interesting Sherpa village to Shermathang.

DAY 08: SERMANTHANG - MELAMCHEPUL - KATHMANDU
we now descent from the ridge through the villages, and forest. Arrive Melamchi Pul Bazaar at the bank of the Indrawati river and a 4 hour drive to Kathmandu .

Day 09:- - Kathmandu - departure or Extend other activities.
Transfer from hotel to international airport to board onward journey flight. Or combine with other trip like white water rafting or safari tour at Chitwan Park . The cost would be extra for rafting & safari
